We are used to working in small bathrooms common in local terraced housing in Lancashire and Yorkshire, and equally used to working in homes fit for kings with multiple bathrooms and plenty of space.

You will get advice from us on the best way to move the bathroom around with minimum disruption to achieve your dream bathroom. Remember though, it's not always practical to move a toilet, especially if the soil stack is in a concrete floor.

The starting point for your new luxury bathroom is to consider the available space, to maximise the efficiency of the bathroom for your purpose. Next, is it a like for like replacement of a bathroom suite or a re-design of the entire bathroom.

The bathroom must work for you ... consider perhaps ...

Do you want a bath at all? Just a shower may be a good idea now, but maybe not if and when you come to sell a house. A new bath with shower surround may be more suitable than a shower cubicle in a smaller bathroom.

The hot water system may restrict or dictate what is most efficient, especially in choice of shower units.

Storage facilities may be required, and with careful design waste space can be turned into usable storage space.

Separate toilet, in addition to or instead of the toilet in the bathroom, space permitting. Creating a separate room for the toilet adds flexibility to a home with a teenage family.

Tiling is a crucial part of bathroom design. A fully tiled bathroom is an advantage in a smaller bathroom for ease of future maintenance, part tiling requires paper or paint on the untiled areas which quickly flakes or peels.

Bathrooms for the less able bodied, disabled and the older generation need special consideration, the design needs to be efficient and accommodate the abilities of the user. We have a lot of experience with designing bathrooms for this group of  people, for example:
